1920 wedding - John Taylor & Ethel Hawker

Wedding day picture of John Taylor (1891-1975) and Ethel Hawker (1893-1971) who were married on 2nd June 1920 in Evesham.  The photo was taken outside the front door of ‘Rosebank’, Pitchers Hill, Wickhamford, which was the home of his parents.  John’s parents, Robert and Sarah Kate Taylor, had lived in Childswickham, but moved to ‘Rosebank’ by 1911.  Ethel Hawker was the daughter of Thomas and Helen Hawker of Evesham.

John Taylor served with the Worcestershire Regiment during the Great War.  After their marriage, John and Ethel moved to the Alcester area and had five children.    They remained in Warwickshire for the rest of their lives.
