British Isles
Arranged by Rachel Latham
The British Isles consists of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and the Channel Islands (Guernsey and Jersey) and the Isle of Man which are Crown Dependencies and as such are self-governing possessions of the British Crown. The Queen has a special relationship with the Channel Isles as reflected by the titles and positions she holds in each. She has been celebrated throughout her reign for the security and cohesion that have been defining characteristics of her matriarchal leadership.
