EVESHAM GROOM AT FLADBURY

Two well-known Vale personalities, Miss Jennifer Ann Blore and Mr David Clarkson Idiens were married at St John the Baptist’s Church, Fladbury, on Saturday.

Miss Blore is the younger daughter of Major and Mrs Donald Blore of Craycombe Farm, Fladbury, and Mr Idiens the elder son of Mr & Mrs Sidney Idiens of Aldington Lodge, Evesham [sic – actually in Aldington].

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white tulle dress.  She carried a bouquet of white roses and lily of the valley.

Bridesmaids were Miss Joan Blore (bride’s sister), Miss Pam Idiens (groom’s cousin) and Misses Mary Nicol and Jennifer Oakley (bride’s friends).  All wore white sharkskin dresses and white velvet coatees.  They carried bouquets of white and pink roses.

The service was conducted by the Rev H C Vial, Rev D K Sylvester and the Rev Nicholas Judge.  Mr C Clements of Pershore was at the organ.

A reception followed at the home of the bride’s father after which the couple left for a honeymoon in the Balearic Islands.  The bride travelled in a bottle green velvet coat with green hat and accessories.

The bride was educated at the Alice Ottley School, Worcester, and Bedford Physical Training College.  Until recently she held a teaching appointment in Oxford.

Well known in Evesham, the groom is a partner in the firm of Messrs Frank Idiens & Sons, Evesham.  He was educated at Wrekin College and served in the Parachute Regiment from 1944 to 1947.  He also plays in the hockey and cricket teams of Evesham Sports Club.
