BADSEY WEDDING

A very pretty wedding took place on Monday when the marriage took place St James’ Church of Miss Muriel Griffin, third daughter of Mr & Mrs W Griffin of Aldington, and Mr Arthur Frank Hawlins, only son of the late Mr & Mrs John Hawlins of Edgbaston, Birmingham.  The Vicar (Canon W C Allsebrook, RD) officiated.  The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a Lido blue georgette ankle-length dress with lace trimmings and hat to match, whilst she carried a sheaf of Madonna lilies.  The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Fred Dore (brother-in-law of the bride).  After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home.  Later in the afternoon Mr & Mrs Hawlins left for their future home at Edgbaston.
