BADSEY WEDDING
The wedding took place at Badsey on Tuesday of Miss Daisy May Stewart, the youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Frederick C Stewart of Highmead, Bretforton Road, and Mr John William Hill, the only son of Mr & Mrs John Hill of 21 Boat Lane, Evesham. The Vicar (Canon Allsebrook) officiated. The bride, who was given away by her elder brother, Mr Frederick Stewart, looked charming in an ankle-length dress of brown georgette, with coat and hat to match. She carried a prayer book. She was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss Nellie Sears (friend), who was dressed in a coat and hat of navy blue. Miss Sears carried a handbag (a gift of the bridegroom). The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Arthur Stewart (brother of the bride). A reception was afterwards held at the home of the bride’s mother. The bride is very well known in the district and has a large circle of friends. Following the ceremony the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon, which took the form of a mystery tour. The bride was attired in a brown hat and coat, with shoes and stockings to tone. Mr & Mrs Hill were the recipients of many useful and handsome presents from relatives and friends. The happy couple will make their future home at No 20 Boat Lane, Evesham.
