WEDDING

The marriage took place at St James’ Church, Badsey, of Miss Blanche Maria Collett, daughter of Mrs Emma Collett and the late Mr John Collett, 20 Synehurst Crescent, Badsey, to Mr Charles William Baker, second son of the late Mr & Mrs Albert Baker of Evesham.  Canon W C Allsebrook officiated.  The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr John Collett, was attired in an ankle-length gown of white satin, wearing a veil held in place by a wreath of orange blossom.  She carried a shower bouquet of mixed roses and maidenhair fern.  She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Molly Collett, sister, who wore an ankle-length gown of blue silk taffeta, and Miss Mona Collett, niece of the bride, who was attired in an ankle-length gown of pink silk taffeta.  Both wore silver haloes and silver shoes, and carried bouquets of pink and blue sweet peas and maidenhair fern.  Their silver necklets were the gift of the bridegroom.  The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Albert Knight, cousin of the bridegroom.  On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by Mary Collett, niece of the bridge.  The bride afterwards placed her bouquet on her father’s grave.  The reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother.  The happy couple were the recipients of many useful presents, including a case of cutlery from Mr G G Stephens of Evesham, where the bridegroom is employed.  They will make their future home at 20 Synehurst Crescent, Badsey.
