BADSEY WEDDING

The wedding took place at St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday of Miss Nancy Louis Keen, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs A G Keen, 25 Synehurst, Badsey, and Corporal Frank Field, only son of Mr & Mrs H Field of Aldington.  The Vicar, Canon W C Allsebrook, officiated.  The bridge, who was given away by her father, was attired in an ankle-length gown of white satin with wreath and veil.  She carried a bouquet of red roses and maidenhair fern.  The bridesmaid, Miss Margaret Keen (bride’s sister), wore an ankle-length gown of blue taffeta trimmed with pink, and coronet of blue flowers.  Her bouquet was pink chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern.  Mr F Warren was best man.  The service was choral and the hymns “O Love Divine”, “Thine for Ever” and “O Perfect Love” were sung.  Mr T H Knight (uncle of the bridegroom), who was at the organ, played appropriate music.  The reception was held at the Old Schools, Badsey.  Both bride and bridegroom are well known in the district.  The bridegroom is at present in the Royal Air Force.  The bride was educated at Prince Henry’s Grammar School and won her Oxford Senior Certificate in 1937.  Recently she was employed as assistant secretary at Evesham Hospital.  The honeymoon is being spent at Weston-super-Mare, the bride travelling in a tailored twee costume and navy accessories.
