BRIDE IN TURQUOISE BLUE
Miss I M Sadler of Badsey Married
The wedding took place on Saturday at St James’ Church, Badsey, of Miss Irene Mary Sadler, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs A F Sadler of 11 Belmont Terrace, Badsey, and Mr George Edward Brooks, third son of the late Mr R Brooks and Mrs C Brooks of Blockley. The Vicar (Canon W C Allsebrook) officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of turquoise blue with burgundy accessories. She carried a shower bouquet of pink carnations and smilax fern.
She was attended by Miss Vera Gladys Sadler (s9ster) and Miss Lucy Sadler (cousin) who wore dresses of dusky pink crepe, velvet Juliet caps and burgundy shoes. They carried shower bouquets of yellow tulips and smilax fern. They also wore gold crosses and chains, the girt of the bridegroom. Mr Robert Brooks (brother of the bridegroom) was best man.
On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by Miss Audrey Salter.
A reception was held at Bullybrook, Badsey, the home of the bride’s uncles, where 30 guests were present.
Mr & Mrs G E Brooks received many presents. The bride is employed by Messrs Gordon Russell Ltd, Broadway, while the bridegroom is serving in the Royal Artillery. The couple will make their future temporary home at 11 Belmont Terrace.
