The wedding took place St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday of Miss Freda Taylor, youngest daughter of Mr & Mrs R Taylor of 29 Synehurst, Badsey, and Mr Gordon H Akroyd, RAF, only son of Mr & Mrs C G Akroyd of Stanmore, Middlesex.  The ceremony was performed by Canon W C Allsebrook.

The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in dusky pink satin-backed marocain with navy accessories.  She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and lily of the valley and was attended by Miss Mary Taylor (sister) and Miss Pansy Hutchings (friend) who wore dresses of saxe blue satin-backed marocain with navy accessories.  They carried bouquets of pink tulips and forget-me-nots and wore necklets, the gift of the bridegroom.

Captain C Murfitt, RAF, a friend of the bridegroom, was best man.  The bride’s mother was dressed in grey with a blue jeep coat.  The bridegroom’s mother wore grey and black with a fox fur.

On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by Miss Susan Edwards, her cousin, and members of the RAF formed a guard of honour.  Fifty guests attended a reception at the Old School, Badsey.

The honeymoon was spent in London, the bride travelling in dark blue dress with saxe blue box coat.  Both received many useful presents.
