The marriage was solemnised at St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday between Miss Joyce Mabel Smith, only daughter of Mr & Mrs B P Smith of Rosemere, Chapel Street, Badsey, and Mr Ronald George Andrew, third son of Mr & Mrs W H Andrew of Sylvan Villas, Chapel Street, Badsey.  The ceremony was performed by the Vicar, the Rev W B Chapman, and Mrs G W Marshall was at the organ.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a full-length dress of white brocade with train and a short circular veil with a wreath of orange blossom.  Her bouquet comprised white carnations, white freesias and lilies of the valley.

She was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss Audrey Stewart, her cousin, who was attired in a full-length dress of pink lace with a headdress of freesias.  She carried a bouquet of freesias and tulips.  Mr Cecil Andrews [sic], brother of the groom, was best man.

A reception was held at The Royal Oak, Badsey, and the couple later left for their honeymoon in London.  The bride travelled in a suit of check on a cream background with tan accessories.  They were the recipients of numerous presents, including one from the staff of Messrs W H Wallis.  The bride, a native of Braintree, Essex, has for the past year been employed by Messrs W H Wallis& Co Ltd, Evesham, and the groom, a native of Badsey, is employed by Messrs Collins Ltd, Broadway.
