My Dearest Wife,

I was glad to have your letter this morning.  The children are quite well and are very good and happy, to-day they are to go to tea at Aldington, this evening I have promised to go and have a cigar with Mr Savory.

Yesterday I had a grand day among the roses as you may imagine and cleared off several letters in the evening.  I find there is a council meeting on Wednesday morning so I could not very well come up on Tuesday without missing it, if however Mrs Burrows will keep you for another day I would come up by the 2.37 on Wednesday and return by the mid-day train on Thursday with you, drop a line by return if this will suit, if not you must return as before arranged.

With best love
I am ever
Your affectionate Husband

Julius Sladden
