My Dearest Wife,
I will write a line or two by the early post so that you may hear on Sunday.
Mother is quite poorly she kept her bed all day yesterday but calls herself a little better to-day, something seems to have upset her and strange to say George heard from Lizzie that she suffered in the same way on her journey to Burton. The chicks are very good and bright, Baby was sick in the night but seems better this morning. I shall be anxious to hear of your arrival and how little May got on during the long journey, give her a kiss for me and say Papa hopes she will be a good girl. George has just started for London taking some game & roses. How did you find Fanny? Give her my love and with much to yourself
I remain
your loving Husband
