My Dear Eugénie,
I have been having a little nap in my chair, after reading the paper, and, now I must write you a few lines before going to bed. I hope you got up yesterday all right without feeling much fatigue and I shall hope to have news of you to-morrow morning as also of our little daughter, you must give her a good kiss for me and tell me all about her when you write. I suppose you have been to Dr Adams to-day with her, I shall be glad to hear his opinion. The Mitchells did not turn up to-day so he must either be away from home or my letter must have mis-carried. Radleigh and I went out but we only got four brace, birds very scarce we certainly do not seem favoured this year. I have asked Radleigh to come and have some dinner with me to-morrow evening. The chicks enjoyed their day at Aldington very much, hop-picking etc, I called for them in the evening and we met Phyllis on her way down. The two babies seem very jolly. Kitty sends you a kiss. I asked Jack if he had any message and he said I was to say he wanted you to come back soon with May he also sent love and kisses to you and her and to all at Richmond, by name and in rotation. It has been a lovely day with us here and quite warm. I had just time to look into the Church this morning, they certainly are getting on well and I think all can be nicely finished by date of opening. Are you going to try Fred for a subscription?
