My Dearest Wife,
I was glad to have your letter this afternoon.
Tell Georgie I am quite ashamed of him and say that Father Christmas does not like naughty boys that bite. There is a concert here this evening but I shall stay at home and keep Frank company while the others go, they are coming into supper afterwards. Uncle Tom was taken ill on Sunday with apoplectic threatenings, however he is decidedly better and seems likely pulling round again.
I shall go to Rosway on Friday as they are dis-engaged that day, I thought of going to Dover this morning but Harry Hayward wired me that he would not be at home so perhaps I shall go on Thursday. Mr George Gardner late of Eastry Court is staying at Austen Gardner’s he came in yesterday for a chat.
Aunt Susan is better she has knitted some vests for some of the children. We have had heavy rain to-day and I found my waterproof useful.
Tell May that Charlotte was pleased to have her letter, let us know if the frock fits. Charlotte says she should like to give the children one of Mrs Carey Brocks’ books for Xmas, is there any one you particularly want?
Mother seems very well she sends her love to all and with much from myself to you and the chicks.
