My dearest Wife,
I thought I might have had a letter by noon to-day, however I will now write a few lines, before dinner, in order that you may receive them on Sunday morning.
The weather keeps very fine and although cloudy to-day the air is so warming and pleasant that I have enjoyed sitting on the pier and reading another of Capt Mahan’s books “The problem in Asia”. I am now sitting in Grannie’s room and she wishes me to send her love, she seems pretty well and has only failed slightly in the year.
Yesterday I went to Sandwich &c by an early train, just looked in at Delf house and then walked to Ash, had an hours chat with Aunt Susan then walked back to the station and took the 1.19 train to Deal, aunt was really very well for her and chatty as usual. Uncle George I found pretty well, he cannot walk far but strolled round the garden with me, after dinner he was drawn down to the Club and I walked into the town with him and then took a stroll along the sea front &c returning to Rosway to tea, I left by the 6 P.M. train, and G was also well. To-night I think we may go to the theatre to see “The night of the party”.
I hope you are getting on all right in my absence and that “Judy” is quite herself again, give her a kiss for me.
