My dearest Wife,
I did not think to say send my top hat as well as the black trousers and you might find a decent pair of black gloves. I have the key of the hat box, if it is un-locked you must secure it with string, it will reach I think if sent by parcel post to Rosway on Saturday. The funeral is fixed for 3.30 P.M. on Monday, ask Ethel to make a wreath or cross and post it on Saturday to Miss Harvey at Cyprus House, Ash, Dover, if fastened down on the bottom of the box it will travel all right. I should think some white rose buds, white chrysanthemums and some autumn foliage mixed in would be suitable, however I leave that to Ethel, put in a card.

from all at Seward House
Badsey”
I do not think I can get back before Wednesday. The dear old soul passed away almost in her sleep at 5.45 A.M. yesterday. She had had a choking fit the evening before after I had seen her.
Frank was very sadly yesterday, quite confused in his mind.
I cannot write more now as I have several things to do. Of course Frank cannot act and I must carry out the Executors’ duties, George can help me but unfortunately he was not named as an Executor being then in Scotland.
Hope you are getting on all right.
Love to all, dear
Your affectionate Husband
