My dear Julius,
Just a line to tell you I got here safe, & was not too tired by my journey. I had to wait about half an hour at Paddington & found Fred, Mella & Harry waiting for me at Richmond station.
Dear little May looks well & has a little more colour, but I don’t think her so very much grown at which I am rather glad. Polly is going with us this morning to Mr Adams’ & I hope we may have a satisfactory report. Charlotte had left the guinea for the fee with Polly, so I shall have plenty of money.
I enclose the key of my drawer in case you should want the wine keys which I forgot to give you.
I hope the dear chicks are all well, kiss them for me. May says she wants to see Papa most when she gets home. I must go & get ready for the train; I hope you will have a fine day for your shooting.
With fond love, dearest
Your most affect.ate wife
Eugénie N Sladden
P.S. Try & manage for Phillis to go to the practice on Monday
