Mary Anna ROBINSON (née MOURILYAN) (1845-1924)
Mary Anna Robinson, née Mourilyan, (1845-1924), known as Polly, was the sister of Eugénie Sladden (née Mourilyan) who was married Julius Sladden. As Eugénie and Julius were second cousins, Polly was also related to Julius, being his second cousin.
Mary Anna Robinson (née Mourilyan) was born on 28th January 1945 at Sandwich, Kent, the eldest daughter and third of eight children of John and Mary Anna Mourilyan.
On 15th December 1870 she married Frederick Dalgarno Robinson at St Alphege, Greenwich; Frederick was her father’s attorney. They settled in Richmond, Surrey, living at Marshgate House, Marshgate Road. They had four children: Mary (1871-1959), Henry Dalgarno (1873-1954), Anna Magdalene (1875-1942) and Fanny (1877-1956), and employed a cook, housemaid and nurse.
Fred Robinson died in 1901. Polly remained living at Marshgate House until at least 1916. She died on 6th February 1924, aged 79; she was then living at Linden House, 67 Queen’s Road, Richmond. Polly had appointed her son, Harry, and nephew, Fred Butler, as executors of her will; she left effects of £2323 8s 9d.
