My darling Julius,
I was very pleased to receive your letter yesterday & also had one from Fanny & Polly.
Arthur Robinson died on Sunday & is to be buried today & they also tell me that Florence was prematurely confined on the 15th inst, & the baby, a boy, only lived two days; Florence was getting on all right.
I have been feeling rather better again the last day or two, Fanny is very anxious for me to have the nurse soon & even offers to pay her for a week if I will, but we will see what you think about it when you get home. You will get a warm welcome from all of us, dear, even the babies will be glad to have Papa home.
Miss Savory is so taken with Ethel & thinks her such a dear little bright thing. Jack & Kitty seem to be quite happy & well, except for slight colds & Jack had also had the toothache, dear pets, I do miss them, though of course it is a rest having two less to see after.
We had more snow last night but it has turned to rain & is thawing again now though the grass is still white.
Give my love to all at Ash, how is poor Aunt Susan, I hope her eyes are no worse.
Now darling with much love hoping to see you on Saturday evening.
Believe me
Your affect.ate wife
Eugénie N Sladden
