My dear little Juliet,
Auntie & I got back quite comfortably on Saturday in good time for dinner. I hope you were not too tired after all the excitement & that you have not been troubled with any more nose-bleeding. Sunday here was very wet & I did not go out all day, Auntie had a headache & spent the day in bed, so I had to amuse myself pretty much with writing & reading till the evening when Harry was in & sang to me. Anna’s nurse has gone out today for a holiday so Anna has charge of the Baby; he has had a nice long sleep & she has now taken him out; he is such a good child, but when awake never still for a minute. We are expecting Aunt Fanny & Christine to lunch, I am glad I shall be able to see them. Lily Harper has a little boy born on the 5th, I expect Monica is very delighted to have a brother to play with; she used to be so nice with this baby when she & her mother stayed at Folkestone with Anna.
I heard from Father on Monday, Cyril was home & Arthur came over from B’ham on Saturday, he is doing a woman’s part in a play at Christmas & the girls dressed him up in a dress of mine; he can’t come home for Xmas. Yesterday Auntie & I had a nice drive in the park & went to see Fanny & the children; Fanny was very busy making them costumes for a fancy dress party, & the children were busy doing exams with their governess. I saw Mary Jelfs, she looked much taller in her black dress & cap & apron; Fanny is quite pleased with her except for her deafness & is very kindly taking her up to see a specialist & see if anything can be done for it, I am rather doubtful about it, as I have already taken her to two ear Hospitals. I go to Sydenham tomorrow afternoon & hope I shall find Kathleen better, I have not heard how she is the last few days.
I will let you know later on about meeting at Paddington, I must find out how trains fit at Sydenham.
With much love, dear
I am
Your loving mother
