My dear Mother
You haven’t had a letter for some while I think, I have been too busy to write much. Today Aunt Lizzie Fellows made her call and seemed very pleased with the flat. She was in good form and looking pretty well I thought, and was pleased to have this opportunity of meeting Mrs Williams. Mr Williams was detained at home today but we expect him tomorrow. On Saturday evening we took Mrs Williams to the Anglo-American Exhibition for a look round, and she has had several long bus rides. We want to get to a theatre this week before they go, but it is difficult to get an evening set apart.
I hope you got my wire in good time, and that Hubert and Irene will turn up all right next weekend. We shall try and come down on Friday evening and are both looking forward to our weekend. I saw Juliet a few days ago. I think the ankle will settle down all right, and have told her to report progress soon.
London is cool again now, the last spell of heat was just a little too intense for my liking, though hot weather doesn’t like me much.
The Sydenham people were busy entertaining Mela and her brother yesterday, so we didn’t see them.
Will let you know further about Friday later in the week.
With love to all from your son
Arthur
