Letter addressed to Mr Arthur E Jones, Badsey, Evesham, with George V halfpenny stamp, postmarked 16th October 1926, on the one side and, on the other side, a letter on Land Agency Offices, 5 North Terrace, High Street, Evesham, headed notepaper, requesting Arthur Jones to attend on 28th October to give the rents due to the Dean and Chapter of Christ Church, sent by R Webb, Agent.
The Stone House (or Badsey Hall as it is now called) was owned by Arthur Edward Jones from 1915 until his death in 1950. It remained unoccupied for a number of years and became semi-derelict. In 1969, it was bought by Peter Marriott who employed Mick Taylor to renovate the building. Mick (born Michael Raymond Taylor at Aldington in 1944) was a builder by trade and lived at the house from 1969-1972 whilst working on it. He found several scraps of paper under the floor-boards and kept them in case they were of significance.
