BADSEY WEDDING
The marriage took place on Saturday at St James’ Church, Badsey, of Miss Ilot (Betty) Wasley, only daughter of Mr & Mrs V Wasley of Aldington, and Mr John Stephen Styles, eldest son of Mrs and the late Mr Stephen Styles of 19 Council Houses, Wickhamford. Canon W C Allsebrook officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a turquoise two-piece ensemble with navy accessories, wearing a spray of pink carnations. She carried an ivory prayer book. She was attended by Miss Elsie Reynolds, who was attired in a dress of pink sprigged marocain with black accessories and wearing a spray of pink carnations. Her gold cross and chain was the gift of the groom. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Albert Grinnell. The Badsey group of Girl Guides formed a guard of honour and on leaving the church they presented the bride with a silver horse shoe. The happy couple were the recipients of many handsome presents, including an 8-day clock from the staff of Messrs F W Woolworth, Evesham, where the bride is employed. They will make their temporary home with the bride’s parents.
