The wedding took place St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday of Miss Muriel Joan Wheeler, youngest daughter of Mr & Mrs T R Wheeler of 33 Synehurst, Badsey, and Gunner Daniel Rees Thomas, RA, youngest son of the late Mr & Mrs Thomas of Carmarthen, South Wales.  The ceremony was performed by Canon W C Allsebrook.  There was a full choir.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white satin frock and carried a bouquet of dark red carnations and lilies of the valley.  She was attended by Miss Peggy and Joan Whitehouse (friends of the bride and bridegroom), Miss Jean Haynes (niece of the bride) and Miss Doreen Cox (cousin of the bride).  Mr Harold Davies (Llanelly) was best man.

As the bride and bridegroom were leaving the church, the organist, Mr H King, played the Wedding March.  The bride was presented with a horseshoe by Miss Jean Haynes, and with a heart by Master Brian Grinnell.

A hundred guests attended a reception at the Old Schools, Badsey.
