ALDINGTON MAN WOUNDED
Mr & Mrs Moore, of Aldington Sidings, near Evesham, who have five sons serving in the forces, on Thursday received official intimation that their fourth son, Corporal E Moore, of the Worcesters, has been wounded by gun shot in the hand and face and is in hospital in Italy. Corporal E Moore joined up in the early days of the war and has seen a lot of heavy fighting. Mr & Mrs Moore’s second son, Sergeant W Moore, who has been awarded the DCM for gallantry, is a prisoner of war in Germany.
HOW PRIVATE CRISP WON THE MILITARY MEDAL
Private G Crisp, MM, son of Mr & Mrs E Crisp, Badsey Post Office, has (under pressure from home) sent his sister the following account of the circumstances under which he won his decoration:

The “London Gazette” contains the following:
Captain C E Sladden, MC, to be Major (February 24 1917).
Major Sladden is a son of Mr J. Sladden, of Badsey.
GOOD NEWS FOR EVESHAM AND ALDINGTON PARENTS
SERGEANT W MOORE, DCM, A PRISONER
Mrs Moore, of Aldington, has heard that her son, Sergeant W Moore, DCM, is wounded and a prisoner. The information was conveyed in a letter from the Chaplain, who adds: “As far as I can make out his wound was not too serious... We shall greatly miss him, as he was a great soldier, and did excellant work with the battalion.”
CAPTAIN C E SLADDEN, MC
In the list of Mesopotamian honours just issued appears the name of Captain (Acting Major) C E Sladden, Worcester Regiment, who has been awarded the Military Cross. He had previously received special mention in despatches.
A PRISONER IN GERMANY
Information has been received that Private A J H Morris, of the Coldstream Guards, is a prisoner in Germany. He went out to France last October, and on November 27 his wife was notified that he was missing. On Wednesday a card was received from him stating that he is a prisoner in Germany. Private Morris is the third son of Mr Albert W Morris, formerly of Evesham, and married Miss Mustoe, at Badsey, last September. His brother Fred, a private in the Royal Fusiliers, is in hospital at Epsom, after undergoing an operation in France.
