My dear Cousins

I can’t let the post go without writing you a few lines to send you all my very deepest sympathy. I feel there is so little one can say at such a time for while I have lost with her a kind and dear Aunt, you have lost a sweet and beloved Mother, but I know you will all have the strength given you to bear this great sorrow and it must be a great comfort to think she was spared much suffering and of the joy she had in all her children. One feels for the absent ones and somehow Cyril most of all, for he has not been home for some time and being in hospital he will have more time for thought for there is nothing like work to make the burden lighter. I wish I could do anything to help. You came to us in our trouble and we seem to be able to do nothing. It will always be a sweet memory that stay last year. I should like to know when the funeral is and go to the early service at St Andrew’s that morning and you will be all in my thoughts and prayers. Give Uncle my love and deepest sympathy.

Every your loving Cousin
Marian
