My Darling Wife,
I was so glad to have your letter this morning and to hear that you had actually been on your feet, and sat up in a chair, how you must have enjoyed the change, I daresay you would feel tired but that will soon wear off.
This time to-morrow I hope I shall be home once more, how glad I shall be when we get settled once again. I am glad you are seeing visitors in my absence it makes the time pass more quickly. I enclose the letter I received from Mother as you may like to read it.
I am quite well now so you need not be afraid of my being ill without “my little wife” to look after me.
I have the accountant here to-day posting up the books and am brewing India Pale Ale so am rather busy. We had quite a hard frost this morning but the weather is pleasant.
I hope our boy continues to thrive and that he takes his food better, give him my usual kiss please.
With fondest love believe me my dearest wife.
Ever your affect. Husband
