My Dearest Wife,
I arrived all safely at middle day and must just drop this line before dinner-time. I have just come from the market and am going to see Fowler the upholsterer before we go down to Badsey and I hope to be able to tell you something definitely when I write to-morrow.
I shall be very anxious to hear how you are getting on and hope to have a favourable account on Wednesday morning.
I met Alfred Hitchman at the Junction coming from London he got out of the train I got in, he enquired after you & baby and was very friendly. Now, Good-night.
With a kiss for baby and yourself.
Believe me ever
Your loving husband
Julius Sladden
