My Dearest Wife,

I was so sorry to find by your letter this morning that the sore breast required cutting, and in two places, still I am thankful for your sake that it is over and I think now there is every chance for it to heal rapidly, I shall be anxious to hear to-morrow morning how you feel to-day, and I do hope to find you doing nicely on my arrival which I will try and make 4 p.m.

Mr Ridgeway talks of going up in the morning and returning at 4.25 if so he will no doubt call. The enclosed came this morning from  Miss Burridge and I send it on for you to read.  There is not much for me to write about that I can think of so good-bye for a little while.  Give our little boy a kiss, please.

God bless you my love

Ever your affect. Husband

Julius Sladden
