My Dearest Wife,
I was glad to have your letter this morning and to hear that you got up all right, and especially that baby was good.
Enclosed letter from Miss Hougham came this morning I concluded it was a joint affair so read it as you will see. Afternoon post brought Melbourne paper from George but no letter, they cleared out Feb 22. I spent a long day at the Haynes’ yesterday and enjoyed myself.
Now I must close as I have a lot to do, will write again to-morrow
With best love
Ever your affect Husband
