My Dearest Wife,
Your letter of yesterday only came to hand this afternoon. I think I shall come through London to-morrow as Saturday trains are often late and there is not much margin of times at Reading, I expect to reach Surbiton about 7 P.M. but ask Fanny not to wait dinner for me beyond the normal time. I heard from Ash to-day they seem to expect that we shall stay at Austen Gardener's. The chicks are very well but I have so much to do that I must defer all news till we meet. With best love
I am always
Your affect Husband
