My Dearest Wife,
I arrived quite safely yesterday afternoon. I hope you are really getting stronger, ask Mrs Lake to drop me a line to-morrow Saturday as I shall want to hear something of you by Monday, perhaps I may go up on that day and stay the night at Surbiton but will tell you in my next letter. Mother & Charlotte send love, the latter will write to you shortly.
I hope that the little girls are good and happy and that baby boy is flourishing. I propose going to Deal to-morrow. This post will not wait for one so I will close this letter.
With best love
Believe me ever
Your affectionate Husband
