Letters from Mary Simpson (1871-1959), née Robinson, niece of Eugénie Sladden
Mary Simpson (née Robinson, 1871-1959), was the niece of Eugénie Sladden, being the eldest daughter of Eugénie’s sister, Mary Anna Robinson. The Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service at The Hive in Worcester contains six letters written between 1902 and 1957. The first letter, written in December 1902 on the occasion of her aunt’s silver wedding, was written when Mary was still unmarried and living at home in Richmond. The subsequent letters are written from her home at Highfield, Budleigh Salterton, Devon, where Mary moved after her marriage in 1913.
The pre-war and post-war letters have not been transcribed but may be viewed in Worcester. The two letters written in April 1916 to her Aunt Eugénie, shortly before her death, have been published.
