BADSEY WAR SAVINGS ASSOCIATION

At a committee meeting held last Tuesday, some interesting particulars as to the work of this association were given. During the sixteen months of its existence the sum of £1,119 7s. Has been paid in, and 1,444 certificates have been purchased for distribution among the members, now numbering 146. In order to further assist the movement, it was decided to open a weekly subscription among the school children, at which sums of 1d. and upwards would be received towards the purchase of certificated. The sale of the new “Nominative Bonds” of £5 each was also discussed, and the committee decided to advocate their purchase among those prepared to pay down such an amount in one sum. These new bonds should become very popular, as they are obtainable from the association on application without filling up of intricate forms; they bear interest at the rate of 5 per cent. payable half yearly, and are repayable in full on October 1, 1927, with the addition of a bonus of 5s., thus forming a very attractive investment, readily saleable too if desired. Those desirous of winning the war and making a safe investment for themselves can achieve the double purpose by joining the above or some kindred association without delay.
