Birthday card sent by Julius Sladden to his wife, Eugénie, who was staying with her sister, Polly (Mary Anna) Robinson, at Marshgate House, Richmond. The envelope is postmarked 7.30 pm 2nd December 1902 Evesham and arrived at Richmond on 3rd December, the day of Eugénie's 48th birthday. The printed card says “With Every Good Wish” on the front. Inside, there is a picture of Cookham Church from the Thames and the following words:
“Joy and fresh days of love accompany your heart” – Shakespeare
