BADSEY WEDDING
The wedding took place at St James’ Church on Saturday of Miss Daisy Sandford, fourth daughter of Mr and the late Mrs William Sandford of 11 Synehurst, and Mr Albert Oakley, youngest son of Mr and the late Mrs I Oakley of Rainbow Hill, Worcester. The ceremony was performed by the Vicar (Canon W C Allsebrook, RD). The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in an ankle-length dress of oyster pink satin and pink shoes and stockings, while her headdress comprised a wreath and flowing veil. She carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and maidenhair fern. She was attended by three bridesmaids – Miss Dorothy Sandford (her sister), Miss Lilian Oakley (niece of the bridegroom) and Miss Mary O’Brian (a friend). Miss Dorothy Sandford was dressed in an ankle-length dress of peach satin, while her headdress was a band of gold coloured leaves. She carried a bouquet of pink dahlias and maidenhair fern. The Misses Oakley and O’Brian wore ankle-length dresses of pale pink silk net and wreaths of roses. Their bouquets were of bronze coloured chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr E Oakley (brother of the bridegroom). Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s father. Mr & Mrs Oakley will make their future home at Deacle Place, Evesham.
