BADSEY BRIDE
Miss C V Hall and Sergeant P P Turvey

The marriage took place on Saturday at St James’ Church, Badsey, of Miss Cicely V Hall, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs W Hall of Inverdoon, Badsey, and Sergeant Percy P Turvey, third son of Mr & Mrs P P Turvey, 59 King’s Road, Evesham.

The service, which was choral, was conducted by Canon W C Allsebrook, RD.  The hymns “Lead us, Heavenly Father, lead us” and “O perfect love” were sung.  Mr Davis was at the organ.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pink two-piece costume with navy blue hat, shoes and gloves.  She also wore a spray of pale mauve orchids and carried an ivory prayer book.

The bride was attended by Miss Doreen Hall (sister), who wore a lagoo9n blue two-piece with matching accessories and a spray of pink sweet peas.  She also carried an ivory prayer book.  Mr Hubert Martin of Evesham was the best man.

The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was a gold signet ring.  The bridegroom, who is at present serving with the Army Air Corps, was employed by Messrs Cross, Son & Hodgetts before joining up.

Fifty guests later attended a reception at the home of the bride.  The honeymoon was spent at Wooton near Oxford.
