An RAF/WAAF wedding took place at St James’ Parish Church, Badsey, on Easter Monday between L/AC Leslie John Woodhouse of Dunsford House, Belbroughton, and L/ACW Selina Knight, younger daughter of Mr & Mrs W Knight of Badsey.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of pale blue penne velvet with accessories to match and carried a bouquet of pink carnations.

She was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss May Hartwell, a friend of the bride, who was dressed in a pink silk gown with accessories to match and carried a bouquet of tulips and irises.

The ceremony was performed by S/L D Hylitt, an RAF padre, the organist being a fellow member of the RAF.

The best man was Mr Edwin Woodhouse, a brother of the bridegroom.

As they let the church, the happy couple were presented with a silver horseshoe.  The reception was held at the bride’s home and was attended by friends of the bride and bridegroom, including members of the M/T section at the aerodrome where the couple are both stationed.
