BADSEY MARRIAGE

The marriage took place quietly at St James’ Church on Wednesday of Mr Charles John Ward, elder son of Mrs G W Ward and the late Mr E J Ward of London, and Miss Beryl Wheatley, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs A J Wheatley of Knowle Hill, Evesham.  The ceremony was performed by the Vicar, Rev W B Chapman.  The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a suit of turquoise and grey with matching accessories.  Mr R Ward, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.  Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Manor, Pershore.  The bridegroom saw service in Italy and Africa during the 1939-45 war and is now engaged in the market gardening industry.  Mr & Mrs Ward will make their future home at Knowle Hill, Evesham.
