My Dearest Wife,
I must write from here or shall not be time for post. There is a capital show of roses.
Fred & Polly came to dine last night, I went round by Richmond to see your father who is not quite himself so would not join the party. I was glad to get your letter this morning and to find you were getting on all right, kiss the babies for me, I hope they will be good. To-morrow morning I expect to go on to Eynsford and stop there the night. I have bought the cheap dinner service etc for you to-day as advertised.
Charlotte joined me here at the show with Miss Harrison, and they have just gone to walk in the grounds. I must now go on to Paddington to arrange about a private compartment for Monday and then get on to Surbiton. I have ordered a coat and want to get it tried on Monday morning. To-day I went to Drury Lane with Charlie and looked over their establishment, however I must reserve full details of my doings for my return. I am enjoying a little change of air and wish you were here too. With best love to you my little wife
Believe me ever
Your affectionate Husband
