On Friday 12th July we shall be holding a musical soirée in the garden of Alan and Shirley Tutton. Please join us to listen to the Chameleon Wind Quintet who will be playing a selection of light and popular classics. Badsey Society Committee member, Helen Green, is a member of the group. Bring a picnic, if you wish, and folding chairs if possible – though some will be available on the night.
Helen plays the oboe and will be joined by Helen Foster (flute), Claire Burnell (horn), Simon Grew (clarinet) and Sue Lupton (bassoon). The ensemble was formed in 2010 by a group of local players. They play regularly throughout the West Midlands, including Sinfonia of Birmingham, Worcestershire Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of St John, Redditch Symphony Orchestra, the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra and the British Police Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble derives its name from the many colours used by a chameleon – hence the link with the differing individual sounds of each instruments of the ensemble.
