My Dearest Wife,
I have received your letter, written at Bourg, this morning and I will write you a few lines in order that you may not go over Sunday without another letter from home.
The children went to Bretforton wake this afternoon as it was tolerably fine and appear to have enjoyed themselves as usual, Miss Fabling says everybody made much of Georgie. May was rather inclined to be tearful this morning and had her breakfast in bed however I think she was a little mother-sick for she was all right this afternoon and I think the outing did her good.
Jack did not seem much inclined to go so I let him have “high tea” with me. Baby is jolly enough but the weather was too uncertain for him to go to the wake. You must give me a full account of Grandma & Charlotte and tell the latter she must not go knocking herself up! Aunt Susan you will of course see something of, give her my kind love. I wrote a few lines to Frank the other day you will see what they have to say about interchange of visitors.
The poultry are doing well and all the live stock, we sat another hen yesterday with some eggs I got near Bromsgrove.
I hope you will have a good passage to-night, I am afraid the waiting at Dover in the early morning will not be very nice. I think we shall all be glad to feel that you are getting, as it were, within hail of us, however we are rubbing along pretty well. Give my love to Grandma & Charlotte and tell the former I shall hope to hear she has managed to go to Church with you. Tell Charlotte we should like her to have seen all our new premises this year. With fond love to yourself darling.
I am ever your loving Husband
