Married at St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday, were Miss Doreen Elizabeth New, second daughter of Mrs A Shooter of 1 Synehurst, Badsey, and Mr Lawrence Anthony Dean Collins, eldest son of Mrs C Collins of 22 Victoria Avenue, Evesham.
EASTER WEDDINGS – A BADSEY BRIDE
St James’ Church, Badsey, was filled to capacity on Wednesday, on the occasion of the marriage of Miss Miriel Joan Knight, only child of Mr & Mrs T H Knight of Synehurst, Badsey, and Mr Frank William Warren, second son of Mr E Warren and the late Mrs Warren of Broadway.
WEDDING
The marriage took place on Saturday at Christ Church, Esher, of Miss Constance Winifred Statham, youngest daughter of the late Mr A J Statham and Mrs Danver, Newbury, Berks, and Sapper Gordon William Malins, eldest son of Mr & Mrs G D Malins, 22 Synehurst, Badsey. The vicar of the parish of Esher officiated.
Ex-Badsey Man Home from Canada to Wed
Mr Robin William Sandford, only son of Mr & Mrs Frank Sandford of 32 Synehurst, Badsey, was married at St Michael’s Church, Coppenhall, Crewe, on Saturday, to Miss Pearl Christina Clements, only daughter of Mr & Mrs W G Clements of No 60 Mossford Avenue, Crewe.
The ceremony was conducted by the Rev W Thornton and Mr Fleet was organist for the hymns, “Love Divine, all loves excelling” and “The King of Love, my Shepherd is”.
The wedding has taken place at St James’ Church, Badsey, near Evesham, of Mr Francis Glanville Williams, youngest son of Mr & Mrs W J Williams of Gweek and Miss Winifred Muriel Lucy Taylor, only daughter of Mr & Mrs A J Taylor of 24 Synehurst, Badsey. Rev J G Jefferys officiated. The service was choral and the bride’s father took part in the ringing of wedding peals.
Will Dallimore, fresh from the success of his Back Garden Films with brother, John, now returns to recording some of Badsey’s history in bite-sized chunks. The first film was posted on The Badsey Society’s Facebook page on 7th August 2020 and more are being added from time to time.

Two well-known Badsey and Offenham families were united on Tuesday when the wedding took place of Miss Constance Lilian May Perkins, only daughter of Mr & Mrs T Perkins of 15 Synehurst, Badsey, and Mr Ronald Percy Rouse, eldest son of Mr & Mrs P Rouse of Blackminster. The Vicar (Canon Allsebrook, RD) officiated.
