A wedding of considerable interest took place on Boxing Day at St Ecgwin’s Church, Honeybourne, when Ruth, only daughter of Mr & Mrs Frederick Taylor, Bretforton Road, Honeybourne, was married to Deryck, son of Mrs and the late Mr K Knight of Synehurst, Badsey. 

Friday 19 August 1955 – Funeral of John Henry Welch

MR J H WELCH, BADSEY

The funeral took place on Saturday at St James' Church, Badsey, of Mr John Henry Welch of 6 Synehurst, Badsey, who died at his home the previous Wednesday after a long illness. He was 81 years of age. 

After leaving school, Mr J H Welch was employed in shoe factories at Northampton and Worcester, and later moved to Evesham where he followed the same trade. 

Saturday 11 August 1928 – Wedding of Helen Malin at Badsey

BADSEY, WEDDING OF WELL-KNOWN FOOTBALLER

Many residents of Badsey and Bretforton attended Badsey Church on Monday when the wedding took place by the Vicar (Rev W C Allsebrook, RS) of Helen, daughter of the late Mr John Malin, a well-known resident of Badsey, and Geoffrey, the son of Mr Horace Knight of Bretforton.  The bridegroom is a well-known member of the Bretforton Old Boys’ Football Club.

Saturday 2 March 1940 – Wedding of Annie Louisa Sandford at Badsey

WEDDING

The marriage was solemnised at St James' church on Saturday afternoon of Miss Annie Louisa Sandford, third daughter of Mr and the late Mrs William Sandford, of No 11 Synehurst, Badsey, and Mr Herbert Fitzroy Newbury, only son of Mr and the late Mrs Herbert Newbury, of Childswickham. The ceremony was performed by the Vicar, Canon W C Allsebrook, RD.
