St James’ Church, Badsey, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday when Miss Helen Myra Hartwell, only daughter of Mr & Mrs Elgar Hartwell of Hollywood Villa, Badsey, was married to Mr Albert Oliver Stanton, eldest son of Mr & Mrs F Stanton of 93 Kings Road, Evesham.

The bride comes from a well known Badsey family and is extremely popular in the village.  Educated at Badsey Council School, she has for the last 6½ years been a member of the staff of the BBC at Wood Norton and Birmingham.

St James’ Church, Badsey, was the scene of a picturesque wedding on Saturday when Miss Esme Jelfs, only daughter of Mr & Mrs Bert Jelfs of Vale Cottage, Badsey, was married to Mr Donald Dennick, only son of Mr & Mrs H Dennick of 58 Avon Street, Evesham.

Married at St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday, were Miss Emmeline Clara Sheward, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs O S Sheward of 1 Silk Mills, Badsey, and Mr Dennis William Henry Hughes, youngest son of Mr & Mrs J J Hughes of 104 Kings Road, Evesham.  The Vicar, Rev W B Chapman, officiated, and Mrs G W Marshall played the organ.
